The rail forwarder BLG AutoRail purchased 200 single-deck wagons for the transport of finished vehicles. This type of wagon is designed and produced by the company Greenbrier. It is the first time BLG AutoRail procured this type of wagon, that is planned to be used on various relations in Europe.
Railway transport of dangerous goods: The railfreight company DB Cargo BTT does kerosene transports in Germany. With particular expertise for handlung mineral oil products the German rail forwarder is responsible for the transport, the management of tank cars and the monitoring of transports.
Railway transport for paper: the Swedish logistics company ScandFibre Logistics (SFL) has placed an order at DB Cargo for the transport of 1.2 million tons of paper per year. The transport will be from Sweden to central- and south Europe. In addition DB Cargo will forward 12.000 wagonloads to Sweden.
The Swedish railway undertaking Hector Rail has announced incoming orders of about 400 million Euro by the end of 2016. Biggest client is the paper manufacturer SCA Skog, which commissioned Hector Rail with railway transportation for the duration of 10 years.
The rail transport company ARS Altmann, specialised in automobile transport, has changed it’s transport partnership starting in 2017 (Rail Business 1/2-2017). The railway undertaking Rheincargo was resigned and the Swedish company Hector Rail takes over several transports in the future.
Rental of tank wagons: The wagon keeper WASCOSA rents out 120 new tank wagons to the plastics manufacturer Borealis for the transportation of ammonia. Borealis annually transports 400.000 tons of goods and is the second biggest producer of Polyethylen and Polypropylen on the European market.
New connection for groups of wagons between Belgium and Sweden: The railfreight companies B Logistics and Green Cargo established a new connection called »Green Xpress«. The cooperation is used reduce the utilization risk for transports und will start as an intermodal connection by Inter Ferry Boats.
Since October 1st., Jürgen von Rönn works for waggon24, a company for mobile maintenance of wagons. He will be head of sales and operations for fleet- and maintainance management. Rönn previously worked for the wagon rental company GATX Rail Germany GmbH as the Fleet Service Center Manager Europe.
Innovation in the market of wagon construction: The wagon keeper WASCOSA and Waggonbau Niesky have presented a new hopper wagon during the InnoTrans 2016 in Berlin, Germany. The Tanpps - type wagons are characterised by rotatable bulk material chute. This way it is possible to discharge the wagons on the side or downwards.
Four locations in one: DB Intermodal Services brought together four container depots as one in Kornwestheim, South Germany. This way they substantialy increase the capacity. DB Intermodal annually repairs 3.400 containers and realises 95.000 handlings of empty containers in Kornwestheim.
